I Will Arrest You Even If Am Performing And You Commit A Crime

Gospel musician-cum-Police officer, Superintendent Kofi Sarpong, has revealed he would not hesitate to pause a live performance, drop his microphone and arrest anyone he finds to have committed a crime.


Stating the extent he can go to protect his professional integrity and the state, SP Kofi Sarpong noted he is duty bound 24/7 to ensure law and order irrespective of wherever he may be, noting insofar as he sees anyone commit a crime, he would arrest the person.

“As we sit in this room if I see you committing any offense, I will arrest you. I will go to the extent of dropping the microphone even when I’m performing on stage to arrest any person who commits offence” SP Kofi Sarpong said.

He said this in Accra at the launch of SP Kofi Sarpong Live Concert, which is put together by Media Excel Production, a record label he has been working with over the years.

The edition of the Live Concert which will be an annual event is set for May 28, 2017 at the National Theater in Accra. With this his SP Kofi Sarpong Live Concert, the musician aims to raise funds to support some 5000 underprivileged across the country.He intends to register those on the National Health Insurance Scheme.

BLU launches affordable R1 Plus smartphone with large 4,000 mAh battery.

BLU has quietly launched a new smartphone called the R1 Plus. The successor to the R1 HD is a mid-ranger that carries an affordable price tag.

It sports a 5.5-inch HD screen and is powered by the MediaTek 6737 chipset. The unlocked smartphone is available in two different versions. You can get your hands on a model with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage or a variant with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of space.

The R1 Plus is equipped with a 13 MP main camera and an 8 MP front-facing selfie snapper, both of which have an LED flash. It features a metal body that houses a 4,000 mAh battery, which should be good for two to three days of use, according to BLU. Other features worth mentioning are dual-SIM support and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The online retail giant, unfortunately, doesn’t sell the 16 GB variant of the BLU R1 Plus. The device was listed on Best Buy’s website for a short period of time at $139.99 but is currently out of stock.

you know how. There’s also a free application designed to add support for even more filetypes, whether you need to handle .7Z files or tarballs. Let’s dive right in, and show you how to manage archived files on your Chromebook.

How to zip a file in ChromeOS

To get stared, open the file manager on your Chromebook and head to the files you’d like to put inside a zip archive. Select all the files you’d like to include by holding down the Shift key and clicking them one at a time. Once you’ve selected your files, right-click your selection to bring up the context menu. Then, select “Zip selection” from the resulting drop-down menu.

our Chromebook will now create a .ZIP file containing all of your selected files, which you can then upload to a file-sharing service or attach to an email.

How to unzip files in ChromeOS

Extracting files from a .ZIP archive works a little differently in ChromeOS than other operating systems, and can take some getting used to. Basically, .ZIP files are mounted, like an external drive. Confused? Here’s what that looks like.

Open your Chromebook’s file manager, then browse to the location of your .ZIP file.

Once found, double-click the file to open it. If you pay attention, you’ll see that the .ZIP file has been mounted, and is located in the sidebar of the file manager alongside your Downloads folder, Google Drive account, and any other services you’ve mounted

 

If all you need to do is look at a few files, this is probably enough. But if you want to extract files from your archive, open a new file manager window, browse to or create a folder for the files, then drag everything from one window to the other.

How to open 7Zip, tarballs, and other archive types in ChromeOS

The above method works for .ZIP and .RAR files, but if you need to unarchive files in some other format, you’re not stuck. A free Chrome application called Wicked Good Unarchiver supports other filetypes, including 7zip and tarballs.

Below is a complete list of the application’s supported archives. Thankfully, Wicked Good Unarchiver works in exactly the same way as the method outlined above. Just double-click a file to open it, and the entire archive will be mounted as though it were a disk drive. From here, you can open files or drag them to another folder

Don’t like mounting? Try Zip Extractor instead

Not convinced by the default method for unzipping files? Wish files would just be unzipped and placed in their own folder, instead of being mounted like a hard drive? Zip Extractor is a Chrome application that can extract the contents of .ZIP files and store them within your Chromebook, or directly to your Google Drive.

Just install the application, and when you do, you’ll be asked whether you’d like to use it next time you try to open a .ZIP file. The application will unzip files using a web app — meaning it won’t work offline — but it will also extract files in one step instead of several. How convenient is that?

Do You Have ‘Pent up Demand’ for the iPhone 8?

This year is, with the oft-rumored iPhone 8, going to be a “super cycle” for Apple. At least, that’s what a lot of analysts keep saying.

The last release, what brought us the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, wasn’t as blockbuster as some might have hoped, and while Apple executives remain positive about the iPhone lineup (as they do for all of their hardware and software releases), it’s hard to argue that some folks might have been hoping to see a bit more hardware changes between the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and the iPhone 7.

I can understand where that sentiment comes from. We’re accustomed to Apple using an “off year” to keep the hardware the same as a previous generation model, but spice things up with a better camera, better hardware under the hood, and improvements to iOS to convince us upgrading is worth the cost. Apple would very much like us, after all, to buy a new iPhone every year.

It’s on them to give us a reason to do just that.

For the most part I think the company has done that. The iPhone 7 might have missed the mark for some potential buyers, and maybe they kept their iPhone 6s — or even their iPhone 6!– because of it. Some of these analysts point to the iPhone 8 being the device to meet that “pent up demand” for a new phone, and therefore spurring even more sales.

I’m happy enough with the iPhone 7 Plus. I’m not a huge fan of big phones, and the iPhone 7 Plus still feels awkward sometimes, but I do like Portrait Mode with the dual cameras on the back, so I went with that device this year. But I don’t have any “pent up demand” for the iPhone 8. I think it’ll be a great phone — or it won’t be. Either way I’ll be upgrading whenever the phone becomes available, if for no other reason than my carrier will let me do it without spending a ton of money.
